Bangiya Sahitya Parishat Publication Wing was set up in 1899 (1306 B.S) to fulfil one of the principal objectives of the Parishat to publish or reprint rare and valuable books, research works and old manuscripts rich in content. It has till date published a considerable number of books on a miscellany of topics in original or in translation from Sanskrit, Arabic and English.
Notable publications of the Bangiya Sahitya Parishat include ‘Pitambar Daser Rasamajari’ ed. Nagendranath Basu (1899, 1306 B.S.), ‘Mahabharat’ ed. Bijay Pandit and Nagendranath Basu (1899, 1306 B.S.), ‘Krittibaser Ramayan : Ayodhyakanda’ ed. Hirendranath Dutta (1900, 1307 B.S.), ‘Mahabharat’, Second Part ed. Hirendranath Dutta (1901, 1308 B.S.), ‘Ramayan Uttarkanda’ ed. Hirendranath Dutta (1903, 1310 B.S.), ‘Vaisnav Padabali’ ed. Basudeb Ghosh and Mrinalkanti Ghosh, ‘Sri Sri Chaitanymangal’ ed. Nagendranath Basu and Kalidas Nag, ‘Sri Dharmamangal’ ed. Manik Ganguly, Haraprasad Sastri and Dinesh Chandra Sen (1312 B.S.) ‘Sambad Patre Sekaler Katha’ ed. Brojendranath Bandyopadhyay (1339 B.S.) ‘Se Kal Ar Ekal’ by Rajnarayan Basu (1358 B.S.) etc. Two other works published by Sahitya Parishat in 1916 (1333 B.S.) ‘Hazar Bachharer Purana Bangla Bhasay Rachita Bouddhyagan O Doha’ ed. Haraprasad Sastri and Badu Chandidas’s ‘Srikrishnakirtan’ ed. Basantaranjan Roy Biddatballav deserve special mention. Bangiya Sahitya Parishat has also to its credit the publication of ‘Bharatkosh’, an encyclopedia in Bengali in five volumes by several experts on their respective fields in 1859 (1366 B.S.) under the careful guidance of a Board of editors comprising Suniti Kumar Chattopadhyay, Ramesh Chandra Majumdar, Satyendra Nath Basu, Nirmal Kumar Basu, Sukumar Sen, Chintamoni Kar, Debiprasad Chattopadhyay, Chintaharan Chakraborty. Another famous publication of Sahitya Parishat is ‘Sahitya-Sadhak-Charitmala’, a collection of a short account of the life and works of those literary personalities who have contributed to the rise and development of the Bengali literature. Publications of the Bangiya Sahitya Parishat have always attracted the interest of the intellectuals all over the country.
